• Wa West DCE cuts sod for construction of Maaduteng CHPS compound

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wa West, Mr Edward Sabo Laabiir has cut sod for the construction of a CHPS compound for Maaduteng a farming community in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region.

To be funded by the District Assembly through its District Development Facility Fund, the CHPS compound will come with a delivery unit, toilet and a borehole at a contract sum of GHC181, 955.17.

The contractor, DAMASS GLOBAL COMPANY LIMITED is expected to finish and hand over the facility in three (3) months.

The DCE after the sod cutting ceremony last Thursday 4th October 2019 said the Wa West District Assembly is working hard to make health care accessible to all its citizens.

He said the assembly is working hard to obtain Goal 3 of the sustainable development goals which talks about ensuring healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

The facility when completed is expected to serve about four sister communities in the Ponyentanga Sub-district including Taabile, Sagbaalong and Saamambo.

Edward Bayereh who represented the District Health Director, Mr Clifford Veng, called on the community to cooperate and support the contractor to complete the project successfully and in time.

Momaah Dari sub-chief of the community expressed gratitude on behalf of the community to the district assembly and pledged their cooperation and support for the contractor.

He said the facility when completed will reduce their long hours of trekking about 6 kilometers to access
