The deputy Minister for Information, Piuos Hadzede has called on journalists to be vigilant of their personal security us they play a critical role in the development of the country.
The minister made the comments during a two day workshop for Ghanaian journalists on Ghana’s obligation under International Human Rights Law at the Modern City hotel in Tamale.
The workshop is organized by the Africa Center for International Law and Accountability.
He said the media is a critical tool in the dissemination of government policies to the people and the need for government to build a firm relationship with journalists in the country.
He said the NPP government is committed to passing the Right to information Bill which will aid the job of journalists in finding information from government departments.
The minister has called for partnership with the Africa Centre for International Law and Accountability.
The Capacity Building Workshop is expected to end on Tuesday, 23 October, 2018.
