Breaking: Sex for grade video; Two UG lecturers Interdicted

Following the public uproar generated over the release of a documentary on Sex for Grades by the BBC, the University of Ghana has Interdicted two of its senior staff members Prof Ransford Gyampo and Dr Paul Butakor who were captured in the videos with immediate effect.

In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs of the University, Mrs Stella Amoah on Tuesday October 8th, 2019, the University hinted that this action was to allow for investigations into the matter to continue.

The statement admitted that sexual harassment has harmful effects on its victims and thus encouraged all victims of sexual harassments in the University to make use of internal mechanisms to have such issues addressed. She posited the readiness of the University to sanction all offenders of the anti-sexual harassment regulations of the University drafted in 2017.

The statement also provided a telephone number and e-mail address encouraging all students who are victims of such cases to have their concerns heard through such means, the statement concluded.
