CEO of X-unit Group of Companies backs president ban lift


Anwar Sadat, a business Entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer for X-Unit Group of Companies based in Accra Ghana, has praised the president Nana Akuffo Addo for lifting the ban on partial lock-down of the country following the mass outbreak of Covid-19 in the country and the world.
According to the business guru, if the president had extended the ban by one week, the country would have experience an economic meltdown.
In an interview with Radio Progress Super Morning Drive host, Muniru Ibrahim on 20th April, 2020, he said businesses were suffering because of the partial lock-down.
President Nana Akufo-Addo has lifted the partial lock-down on some parts of the country which was necessitated by the spread of the novel corona virus.
This makes Ghana one of the first countries worldwide to ease restrictions on movement during the pandemic.
Addressing the nation in a televised broadcast, the President said the three weeks lock-down will be lifted from 1 am on Monday, April 20.
Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Kasoa, had been under a partial lockdown for the three weeks period in which Ghana’s corona virus cases have risen to 1,042.
In this period, most of 68,591 contacts traced have been tested, according to President Akufo-Addo.
Mr Sadat said the economic hub of the country is Accra and Kumasi and when those areas are closed down, it will affects the operations of the country, he said the Covid 19 has not yet affected the country so much that we will have to lock-down the country more than three weeks.
He stated that, even china has opened up some parts of their country where the virus emanated.
The CEO called on all persons to consider the decision of the president as a bold step and support him in this trying moments.
