Katherine T. Lankono, District Chief Executive for Nadowli-Kaleo in the Upper West Region at the weekend appealed to people in the district to support, encourage and pray for her and the president of the republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo -Addo to serve to their expectation.
She requested the prayer when members of Council of Churches organized a prayer time with the DCE at the forecourt of the District Assembly in thanking God for His love, care and blessings to the DCE and the President and prayed for God to guide her in administering the district.
The service was attended by a large number of people including relatives, friends, Chiefs, Assembly members, church members and Assembly Staff.
The District Pastor, Fountain Gate Chapel, Engineer Tey Donatus who preached, urged public officials and people in authority to show love and respect for their subordinates to win their confidence and support for successful administration.
He bemoaned the negative attitude of some departmental heads who disregard their subordinates and asked such officers to change their attitudes.
He asked the public not to use positions to look down upon their fellows and shun their company “as we are all God’s creation”.
Pastor Donatus called on Ghanaians not to be divided by partisan politics but rather be united to promote love, unity, peace and understanding amongst themselves to maintain the peace and stability in the country.
The DCE took the opportunity to outline some government policies which include Free Senior High School, Government Planting for Food and Jobs programme, introduction of NABCO and many other social interventions for the betterment of the lives of the people in the Nadowli-Kaleo district.
She requested if the council of churches could have the church services twice every year.
