The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Daffiama Bussie Issa in the Upper West Region, Hon. Nadi Imoro Sanda has formally welcomed several tens of first-time pupils into the formal school system at some selected schools across the district.

The DCE led a team including the Daffiama Bussie Issa district director of the Ghana Education Service(GES), Miss Juliana Bachor to interact with young children who were mostly reporting for the very first time in their lives, either into Kindergarten(KG) one or primary school class one under the annual “My First Day At School” event.

The team’s first point of call was the Daffiama R/C Nursery and Primary schools where 20 boys and 11 girls were enrolled into primary one. Biscuits and assorted soft drinks including school uniforms were distributed among the children.

At the Bussie Primary School which was the second stop of the team, 40 boys and 46 girls reported into the primary school one. Here, Hon Nadi Sanda interacted with the children and encouraged them to take their lessons seriously in order to become useful persons in the future to themselves, their families and society in general.

He turned to the teachers and charged them to live up to their responsibilities by assisting to mould the kids under their care and also devote proper attention to children with special needs and learning difficulties.

He also praised the teachers for their hard work adding that the President of the republic wants Ghana to become an industrial nation hence the need to invest in education.

The District Director of Education, Miss Juliana Bachor on her part lauded the DCE for making efforts to interact with the new pupils.

The head teacher of Bussie Primary School, Mr. Donmee Anmaala Chrispin advised the children to make education their priority.
