Immigration officials stationed at Hamile Sector Command have arrested seven Burkinabes who sneaked into Ghana through unapproved routes at Batoma.
This was contained in a statement by the Upper West Regional command of the Ghana Immigration Service GIS signed by it’s Public Relations Officer PRO Ibn Yussif Duranah Abdul-Mumin Seidu stated that the vigilant Immigration Officials on duty at the Batoma, an unapproved route in the Hamile Sector Command, bordering neighbouring Burkina Faso in the Hamile Sector Command intercepted the seven Burkinabes who sneaked into the country on an unregistered Apsonic tricycle. The seven Burkinabes who are all males were between the ages of sixteen and 25.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Service preliminary investigations revealed that they were travelling to Techiman in the Bono East Region for farming and other labour activities.
According to the statement by GIS they were screened by the port health personnel before being handed over to the Burkina Faso authorities on the other side of the border. The tricycle was impounded and has still being kept at the Hamile Sector Command.
