The Knights and Ladies of Marshall on Saturday put smiles on the faces of about 1000 widows at Daffiama in the Daffiama Bussie Issa District.
Clothes and Sandals worth GH₵40, 000 were donated to the St Monica’s Widows Association in the District.
The donation ceremony started with a church service to thank God for his protection and guidance at the Daffiama Immaculate of St Mary Parish Church.
The ceremony was graced by the national, regional and district representatives from the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, including Dr. Elias Sory, Former Director General of Ghana Health Service.
The Member of Parliament for Daffiama Bussie Issa Constituency, Sabastian Sandaare and Madam Grace Kangbree were also present to witness the donation ceremony.
Administrator to the Marshallan Relief and Development Services (MAREDES), Bro. Charles K. Nuoriyee indicated that, the main idea of Knights and Ladies of Marshall was to “support those who are in need like these widows in the society.”
He added that, supporting the needy in the society would avail blessings from God in order to achieve the aim of the Association.
He also indicated that they distributed 10,000 Mathematical sets nationwide to support girl child education in Ghana.
He said many teachers have been trained by the Association in supporting Mathematics and Science education in the country.
The Founder of St Monica Widows Association Rt. Rev. Sister Gabriela Nonaah on behalf of the widows thanked the Knights and Ladies of Marshall for the kind gesture and prayed for many of such donations.
