The Deputy Upper West Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter Ndekugri has asserted that most robbery cases executed in recent times in the region are done in collaboration with some drivers.
He has therefore advised passengers to monitor the posture of drivers when they get on board of a vehicle to travel and always stay alert.
He said passengers should be alert when the driver is stopping unnecessarily and making suspicious calls along their Journey.
ACP Ndekugri made this known in an interaction with Progress News on Wednesday at the Regional Police headquarters.
He said passengers should also monitor other passengers who may act suspicious during the Journey.
The Deputy Police Commander was reacting to concerns raised by some cargo drivers in the Wa Municipality accusing some police officers of extortion during escort services on some highways in the region.
ACP Peter Ndekugri however stated that the Regional Police Command has in recent times arrested about eight persons for attempting to commit various crimes.
The deputy police commander called on the public to come forth with information about criminals in their communities to enable them get arrested and prosecuted before the law court.
