Radio Progress has been adjudged the Best Regional FM Station Upper West Region for 2019 at the 25th Ghana Journalists Association Awards ceremony held on Saturday October 24, 2020.
The station which has been serving the people of Upper West Region with quality programming in news, current affairs, sports, entertainment, advocacy among others has over the years taken commanding heights in the radio listenership share and has consistently topped radio stations in Upper West Region in audience ratings.
The Wapaani-based radio station has topped the BECAAP consultancy audience Survey emerging as the most favourite radio station for listeners and business owners in 2018.
The radio station in 2008 won the Best Rural Radio Station at the 14th Ghana Journalists Awards ceremony.
The GJA Awards add up to the numerous awards swept by Radio Progress over the years due to its unparalleled programming.
Mr James Dassah, chairman of the Board of Directors of the station in short statement thanked the GJA for adjudging Radio Progress once again as the Best FM Station in the Upper West Region.
He also thanked the staff for the efforts they are making to get the people of the Upper West Region informed and encouraged them to do more.
The 25th GJA awards was to honour outstanding journalists and media shows which had excelled in the field of journalism.
