Spicy foodie’s restaurant donates GHS2,000.00 to covid 19 fund

As part of its corporate social responsibility of giving back to the society, the management of Real Spicy foodies Restaurant limited in the Wa municipality of the upper west region has donated an amount of cheque Two Thousand Ghana cedis (GHS2,000.00)  to the COVID 19 FUND to support the sensitization in the upper west region.

Presenting the cheque to the Regional Coordinating council, the chief executive officer of Real Spicy foodies Restaurant Dr. Hamidatu Darimani Saaka said the PR Department of the restaurant has embarked on radio sensitization programs and educated the public on the health protocols of preventing the spread.

According to her, they have also 15 veronica buckets, 20 pieces of hand sanitizers and 30 stands to be presented to some communities in the region.

The Restaurant is a multiple award-winning restaurant and over the years has become a household name.

The upper west regional minister upon receiving the cheque on behalf of government appreciated the kind gesture from the management of spicy.

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih  used the occasion to appeal to all sons and daughters of the region to emulate such move since the region is in dying need of personal protective equipment to fight covi-19, noting that the fight against the corona virus is a collective effort that any organization can support government to combat the deadly disease.

He assured the management that the donation will be put into good use.

President Nana Akufo-Addo on Friday, 27th March, 2020 announced the establishment of the COVID-19 Fund to receive contributions and donations from the public to assist in the welfare of the needy and the vulnerable during the outbreak in Ghana.

He also announced the donation of his 3 months’ salary to the Fund managed by an independent board of trustees chaired by former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo.

Following the announcement, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also announced the donation of his salary for April, May and June to the Fund.

According to the Presidency, the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, has already notified the Controller and Accountant General to effect the deductions at source for the period, and transfer the accrued monies into the Fund.
