The St Francis Girls Senior High School(SHS) in the Jirapa Municipality of the Upper West Region has been presented with a 33-seater bus to end it’s transportation challenge.
This was procured by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama and presented to the school on her behalf by the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Christine Amadu Bonbanye.
The donation of the bus is in fulfillment of a pledge the Minister made to her alma mater
some time back.
The Jirapa MCE presenting the bus to the school authorities indicated that the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development has pledged to be of help to the school in diverse ways.
She commended the school authorities and the students for managing with the school’s limited transport system over the years.
She used the occasion to encourage the teachers to continue to work hard and with passion to aid the students to live their academic dreams.
Some students from the school who witnessed the presentation of the bus to the school could not hide their joy. They applauded the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hajia Alima for the donation.
