Ahead of the 2020 edition of the Radio Progress Upper West Music Awards (PRUMAS), the Events Planning Committee of the awards night have unveiled a the official plaque for the potential award winners.
The event slated on the night of 31st October 2020 at the In Service Training Centre is aimed at recognizing musicians who have contributed greatly throughout the year and also to display appreciation to key industry players who have supported the arts over the years.
Speaking on Radio Progress PRUMAS Hour, the Board Chairman of PRUMAS, Nuhu Tuurosung said the initiative is necessary to boost the industry and change the negative perception about the Upper West music industry.
He added that, the time had come for the scheme to once again recognize hard working, young and talented Musicians in the Upper West region and PRUMAS has seen many development in all sectors of the scheme hence changes in the plaques as well.
“We are doing everything possible to make our musicians through the enabling power of Prumas, better marketers of their brands, potential ambassadors and influencers. We all have seen the re-branding of Prumas this year, it will give more exposure to our musicians here to take up the responsibilities I just mentioned, and I stand on behalf of all the board members to unveil the teaser plaque for our 2020 edition.”
The Awards scheme features twenty-two categories. They include Artiste of the year ,new artiste of the year, vocalist of the year, sound engineer of the year, afro-pop song of the year, DJ of the year ,fan army of the year, high-life artiste and song of the year, best rapper of the year, album of the year among others.
