U/W: NPP’s Nancy Dery calls for calm within Party folks in the Upper West Region ahead of MMDCE’s announcement


Upper West Regional Women Organizer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party NPP and CEO of Women Powering Possibilities Madam Nancy Dery has called for understanding to prevail within the New Patriotic Party in the Upper West Region and the nation regardless of who gets the nod to serve as Municipal Chief Executive or District Chief Executive in the eleven Municipal and District Assemblies in the region.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Progress on Saturday September 18 on the sidelines of the Ministry of Information’s regular Programme dubbed “Minister’s Press Briefing” for the Minister of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development Hon Dan Botwe to announce the nomination of Chief Executives to occupy the various assemblies, Madam Dery admitted that the numbers of applicants for the MMDA positions are overwhelming and that is a sign of proper governance.

According to her, although a lot of people in the region and the country have applied for the positions, very few are qualified to hold the offices.

Madam Nancy Dery called for calm and understanding within the various executives and grassroots of the party before, during and after the appointments adding that whatever happens, the NPP should remain united and peaceful for the task ahead of the party to re-capture power in 2024.
